Regarding the production of car seats that go above and beyond, Diono is undoubtedly the industry leader. When it comes to my child's safety, I am well aware that I want to take every precaution possible. The Diono Radian RXT demonstrates this quality with all of its additional features. When I inquired about car seats, I only heard rave reviews about them, and now I can experience it for myself.
Because of the increased weight limits, children can remain in the rear-facing position for longer, and the booster mode can support children weighing up to 120 pounds.
• The steel frame can collapse for increased portability while maintaining its maximum strength.
• FAA certification is required for air transport.
• Enhanced side-impact protection is achieved through energy-absorbing foam, adjustable head support, and aluminum sidewalls with added reinforcement.
• In the event of an accident, forward-facing children are protected by an energy-absorbing harness called Safe Stop®, which functions similarly to a bungee cord.
• Because of its narrow profile, it is possible to install three car seats in a row in most vehicles.
• Padding made of memory foam provides additional comfort for short and long car rides.
• Covers that can be washed in a machine make cleanup a breeze.
Currently, four distinct models of the Diono Radian Convertible Car Seats are available, designated as the 3R, 3RX, RXT, and 3RXT.
There was a time in 2017 when the 3R replaced the Diono R100. The new model is nearly indistinguishable from the one it replaced, but it is now manufactured in the United States.
The 3R's weight and height restrictions for rear-facing use remain at 40 pounds and 44 inches, for forward-facing use at 20 to 65 pounds for the harness and 100 pounds for the booster. In addition, both forward-facing choices have height limits of 57 inches for children.
An infant insert and a cup holder are not standard equipment on the 3R, so if these are must-haves for your family, you'll need to look elsewhere. The installation angle may make it difficult for infants of a smaller size to fit in the seat, and some larger children have outgrown it before their time.
The Diono Radian 3RX replaced the R120 in 2017. Both models are now manufactured in the United States. With this seat, your child can weigh up to 45 pounds more in a rear-facing position and 120 pounds more in a booster.
In addition to its five available hues and detachable cup holder, the Radian® 3RX features an infant insert for bolstered comfort and head stability. Parents continue to have the same complaints, including the seat's overall weight and installation difficulties. Furthermore, some cars may be too small for a rear-facing seat, and children may outgrow the seat before the age limits are reached.
The Diono Radian RXT has the same restrictions on weight and height as the 3RX, but it also has a headrest that can be adjusted to 12 different positions. This version also includes a cup holder and an infant insert, allowing you to select one of five fashionable color combinations.
The RXT has an adjustable headrest to make it more comfortable and protect you from side impacts.
This new version of the Radian® has a lot of bells and whistles, like a new fabric cover on the back of the seat that you will either love or hate. The cover hides everything ugly and keeps your car seats from getting damaged, but many complain that it makes it hard to get to the parts. The 3RXT also has color-coded dots on the bottom, making it easier to put together.
